Art was introduced to me as a vital part of life at an early age. I was 7 when my dad passed and since that day, art has been the only thing that helps me understand my feeling and the world a little bit better. My dad attended CAL ARTS where he was a very colorful artist. Later in life, this came to inspire all of the color in my work. I experimented with my art practice during my undergraduate's degree where I completed my bachelors in video production. During this time Is when I taught myself resin art. I worked at all costs to understand the ins and outs of this medium.
After college, I realized how important my art was to me and decided to focus on building it as a business. However, I wanted to broaden my life experience first. So, I solo backpacked around the world for almost 5 years. I taught English in places like Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. I volunteered in Nicaragua, lived on communes in France where I worked on my art, & Indonesia where I understood the beautiful feeling of freedom with abstract art.
My inspiration comes from my travel. A combination of experiences, places, artistic ideas around the world and the many inspiring people I have met. For this reason, my work is very expressive. I am best known for my deep, colorful multi- layered artwork that I create with different mediums. It took years of practice and dedication to understand exactly how to create the dimensional look that I achieve in my work. Each painting typically uses 3-4 different mediums mixed with acrylic paints, oils, pastel, alcohol ink, mica powders and resin. Even piece is very unique and created with immense passion with the hope that it sparks passion, life and courage In somebody else.
